Preliminary Task

For my Peliminay task I have been asked to create a front cover and a contents page for a new college magazine. This is my front cover of my magazine as you can see the main story in this magazine is about a girl winning a modelling competiton. First of all i took pictures of Sarah in the studio because normally the front page picture is a studio shot therefore I am sticking to the rules.

Strenghts of my front cover

• I believe that the colours work well together and they are quite eye catching.
• I like the font used for the title of the magazine because it is different to other fonts that magazines use therefore people may prefer this.

Weaknesses of my front cover

• I believe that the front cover is abit plain and could do with having more on it.
• The photograph that I have cut out could of been neater if I had spent more time on it.
• It looks abit boring and simple.

This is my contents page for my college magazine, as you can see it is very simple and is just a rough idea of what it will look like. I like how 'contents' is down the side because i belive that it is different and there are not many magazines about which are like this. Also, I like how there are many pictures are this because if you have alot of writing people will be put off by this and not be interested.
